The URBACT I Programme will hold its final conference in Berlin on November 4th, 5th and 6th 2007.

From the URBACT website (look there for the complete text) :

It will be the final conference of both the URBACT I Programme and the URBAN Programme.
The conference will also be the URBACT II launching conference.
It will deal with the evolutions of the urban issues in the European agenda:
* The shift of the URBAN Programme to the mainstream,
* the impact of Regions for Economic Change on the local implementation of the European policy
* the results of both the URBACT and URBAN programmes,
* the new call for projects for URBACT II.

This third European public conference organised by the Paris URBACT Secretariat, represents an unique possibility for local actors of different levels, to participate in the evaluation of URBAN and of the URBACT I City-network programmes.

The dramatically changed  conditions under which local authorities will have to apply for European support under the 2007-2014 REGIO regulations, can only be met, when European cities, regions and governments as well as local actors on the ground, are well informed about the existing possibilities and opportunities during the years to come.

Besides, this Conference will be, like its predecessor in November 2005 (Liverpool, see its picture-gallery on e-urban), an unique opportunity to meet possible partners in URBACT II Networks.

Berlin will be something of a marketplace for buying and selling synergy between projects over the whole European Union.

There is no participation fee. I hope to meet you on 5/6 November (you can skip the 4th) in Berlin!
