Rencontres 2005 > Inauguratie EUKN door FR en NL ministers in Parijs (27-10-2005) (7)

EUKN (European Urban Knowledge Network) is a Dutch initiative adopted by the EU Urban ministers at their Rotterdam Meeting in November 2004 during the Dutch EU presidency. It networks national, regional, urban, higher education and researchers' information sites in Europe in order to provide timely, reliable and useful knowledge to everybody engaged in European urban problems. Within 10 months, the KCGS*-supported young Dutch team managed to get the huge site working, established working relationships with the 25 countries. A very important input also came from the French-managed European URBACT* Organisation in Paris. Both initiatives work on "capitalisation" of the many dispersed European experiences. They will soon be joined by the British European training initiative, announced at this inauguration event.
